according to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) " it's safe to leave butter and margarine out at room temperature." we leave our butter out and it better then when it was in the fridge, there are some butters that you do have to keep in the fridge but most are 100% ok to leave out. butter is mostly a fat and wont go bad at room temperature.
